Posted: 10.08.2014

EMBO course

Sevastyan Rabdano attended the EMBO course Multidimensional NMR in Structural Biology organized by R. Boelens, C. Griesinger and H. Oschkinat in Berlin. Along with 35 selected graduate students he learned the basic and comprehensive techniques in biomolecular NMR. The topics discussed on lectures are listed below:

  • NMR theory (product operator formalism)
  • Pulse sequences involving pulsed field gradients
  • Multidimensional and multinuclear NMR
  • Methods for spectral assignment
  • Partial alignment of biomolecules
  • Relaxation theory and dynamics
  • Structure calculations and computational methods
  • Protein expression and isotope labeling
  • Solid state NMR
  • NMR enhancement methods (hyperpolarization and DNP)

At the poster session Sevastyan presented the results of work on RRM2. The poster title was “RNA‐recognition motif RRM2 in TDP-43: oxidative stress leads to conformational change, proteolysis, formation of inclusion bodies, and neurodegenerative disease”.
